There are three common processes to commercialize a medical device - invention:

·        assign the patent to a company with a developed strength in distribution of related medical devices for royalties {typical 6%} on sales;

·        the founders mature the product to a pre-production stage and sell the nucleus company to a company in the related business for equity and a cash sum;

·        the founders develop the product and organize a functioning company {with venture funding} to commercialize the medical device- invention.

The development of a founder type company benefits the inventor best - but requires the type of expertise and experience we are offering to move your project to a level ready for investment and second stage growth.

Of course, the greatest return will be that the founder matures the invention. It also requires the greatest risk and effort. If a listing of inventors who had benefited equal to the value of their inventions were compared to a listing of all the useful inventions, little correspondence would apply. This disparity demonstrates that few inventors know how to capitalize on their own inventions.

The explanation for this disparity is not the value of the invention but, at what point the inventor turns over the property to an entrepreneur for commercialization. Inventors underestimate the rigorous, risky and costly process of bringing even good medical inventions to the marketplace and underestimate the need for capital and expertise.
